Colon Hydrotherapy : Dietary consultation
I've been interested in health for a very long time. I was exposed to information far advanced for me back in 1980. I found it all fascinating but wasn't ready. Nor did I connect what I ate to my state of health, which was not at all good. I suffered from allergies since I was a boy. I was allergic to almost everything but food. I used all kinds of over-the-counter drugs, which masked some symptoms and poisoned my body. At age eighteen, I was diagnosed with something called "Seizure Disorder". Which means I suffered from grand mal (big bad) seizures. This is similar to epilepsy, but not technically the same illness. I was told I would have to spend the rest of my life medicated. I was prescribed a powerful narcotic (Phenobarbital) and another drug (dilantin), which was one of the most toxic drugs on the market at the time. I remained medicated for 11 years.
I started to read some alternative books about health, and was really inspired to change my diet and lifestyle. I still didn't make any connection from my diet to my illnesses and didn't think my illnesses could be affected or reversed in any way. I learned about food combining, juicing and the importance of keeping the bowels functioning well. I was constipated my entire life. I had already given up red meat in 1987. As I started with my new approach to eating I had no idea where it would lead.
Within months I had felt such a change in my vitality, which was so different from the rest of my life that I then did something quite risky, I slowly weaned myself off the seizure medication without medical supervision. I had long ago stopped the allergy meds, as they actually contributed to the seizure illness. Within months I was free of the seizure meds and remained free of the illness and the drugs for four years.
I read a book, which taught me the importance of colon cleansing and that was a pivotal moment in my life. A short while later I sought out a colon therapist that was close to where I worked. I was given the number of Gil Jacobs. Gil was my colon therapist and became my teacher and mentor, teaching what "deep tissue cleansing" is and the depth of its power. Fifteen minutes into my first colonic, I knew two things, I would never suffer another seizure as long as I lived, and I would always partake in colonics to detoxify my body and maintain my health.
The total renewal of my health is exactly why I became a colon therapist. I've been off meds for the seizure illness for eighteen years and free of allergies for seven years. Because I suffered from allergies at a young age, it just took a bit longer for that illness to vanish. When I began with my colonic treatments I weighed close to two hundred pounds. I lost a total of about seventy pounds at the beginning and balanced out at a weight I was comfortable with. I am now a colon therapist for ten years and I've been vegan for fourteen years. My diet consists of mostly raw foods, eating one to two cooked veggie meals per week. I no longer experience any illness of any kind and I use no medication and haven't for over 17 years.
My awakening made me realize that truth like this needs to be shared. This experience has taught me that in order to facilitate real healing and avoid illness, we must first cleanse the bowels while changing what we eat to a more whole foods based, cleansing diet. This is my contribution. To help people free themselves from the bonds of "industrialized" medicine and become "independently healthy". Here's to boundless health, longevity and vitality.

Reflexology
I've been interested in nutrition and holistic health practices for a number of years now, finding my way to reflexology in 2008 while pursuing a doctorate in art history and philosophy. The very first time I worked on reflex points, I knew this was what I was supposed to be doing, or, I should say, my hands knew. I am a firm proponent of bodily or kinesthetic knowledge, the way our bodies can know things and store information that we are not always aware of cognitively. I spend a lot of time thinking about neurons and the body, and how we need to play in order to learn, how the brain's processes are indelibly affected by the ways in which we use and treat the body. I am nationally certified with the American Reflexology Certification Board, and a member of the New York State Reflexology Association.
